The film made by Ivars Skanstiņš in 1972 has a mysterious feeling of illegality - people from ex-cafe "Kaza", alternative theatre company "Birojs", editing in "Telefilm-Riga" and perquisitions of  Soviet KGB.

Soviet city setting is juxtaposed with biblical symbols: fire, water, book, fish, bell. Author uses references of his time. We see a man in a gas mask, white silicate wall with a red rose in the window, bleeding doorknob, birds nest in the snow...

KINOTEATR.DOC project unites young generation of Russian filmmakers and presents cinema that truly expresses today’s life, opens new heroes and new topics. In KINOTEATR.DOC opinion, “new naturalism”, as critics sometimes call direction chosen by KINOTEATR.DOC, should return sight its objectivity and emotions their sincerity.
KINOTEATR.DOC is one of the largest independent documentary and feature film festivals in Russia and the only one in Moscow.
Fim programme in Latvia will be presented by KINOTEATR.DOC Project leader and producer Mikhails Sivev.

Is he a monster in the mask of an average citizen or is he an ordinary man in the demon guise? But the world around him is tender and cosy, fragrant and breathful.
